I found these shrines to murder victims in the Carver Terrace neighborhood of Washington, DC. Four people have died there from gunshot wounds in the last few weeks. These two memorials are to Boyd King and to Carlton Fisher.
Our nation is rightfully concerned with the violence done overseas, but we pay so little attention to the ongoing horrors going on in our own communities. Sad.
These are the first shrines I have seen with an image of the Madonna, and of lingerie.
