RIP Chyna "words can't even explain" - Memorial to Lorraine Marie Thomas | 4200 block of 4th Street SE DC







From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, October 30, 2020, in the 4200 block of 4th Street SE, Washington DC. At approximately 3:19 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female, inside of a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. A second adult female was located suffering from a minor graze wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the first victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been identified as Lorraine Marie Thomas, 21, of Southeast DC.  

This shrine to this beautiful young woman moved me deeply. 

Written on a small bear on the shrine is "Sis I love you so much words can't even explain."

In memory of James Edward Brisbon | 300 block of 50th Street NE DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, in the 300 block of 50th Street NE, Washington DC. At approximately 9:17 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been identified as 43 year-old James Edward Brisbon, of Southeast, DC.   

There have been a number of murders and shrines in this troubled block. I pray that reason and calm prevail and that the residents are spared further grief.


Site of the slaying of Jamaul Crockett | 600 block of Lamont Street NW DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2020, in the 600 block of Lamont Street NW, Washington DC. At approximately 4:16 am, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been identified as 36 year-old Jamaul Crockett, of no fixed address. On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, 40 year-old Aaron Jackson, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.

A neighbor informed me that Mr. Crockett was killed a short distance from this location, and that he hoped the community would be at peace.

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, November 9, 2020, in the 1400 Block of Howard Road SE, Washington DC. At approximately 8:55 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, in a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. On Tuesday, November 10. 2020, the decedent succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Martez Jackson, of District Heights, MD. 

Samuel Njikang | shrine, 7203 Little River Turnpike, Annandale VA






From a Fairfax County VA police report: Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred this morning. Officers responded to the Diamond Lounge at 7203 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Virginia, around 2:12 a.m.October 30, 2020,  for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found Samuel Njikang, 27, of Woodbridge, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Njikang was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Preliminarily, detectives believe Njikang was involved in an altercation with a group of people in the parking lot after leaving the lounge. During the course of the altercation, he was shot. This is an active investigation and detectives continue to conduct interviews, process evidence, and canvass the area for witnesses.

Police tape at the site of the slaying of Terrence Jones | 5400 block of Georgia Avenue NW DC

From a DC Police report: NW Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, in the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue NW, Washington DC. At approximately 10:35 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where after all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. Additionally, members located a second victim, an adult female, inside of a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The decedent has been identified as 24-year-old Terrence Jones, of Northwest, DC.
