Quadruple homicide: Savopoulos family, 3200 block of Woodland Drive NW, Washington DC | Crime scene tape

From a DC Police report: On Thursday, May 14, 2015, just before 1:30 pm, personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a residence for the report of a fire in the 3200 block of Woodland Drive NW, Washington DC. While extinguishing the fire, four people – three adults and a juvenile – were discovered inside. The occupants have been confirmed deceased.

Savvas Savapoulos, his wife Amy Savapoulos, their 10-year-old son Philip, and their housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa, lost their lives in this tragic occurrence.

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 11:00 pm, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Daron Dylon Wint, 34. Wint is charged with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed. The investigation is ongoing. It appears that murder and arson were committed in the act of robbery.

There was a large police presence in the area the day I documented this site. It is quite near the Vice-Presidential mansion.

See this Washington Post article for more information.
