In memory of Tiffany Hardy | shrine in the 1600 Block of E Street NE

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Monday, February 8, 2021, in the 1600 Block of E Street NE, Washington DC. At approximately 8:02 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a domestic violence assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim, inside of a residence, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The decedent has been identified as Tiffany Hardy, 28, of Northeast DC.

On Monday, February 8, 2021, Ronald Miller, 41, of Northeast DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed. The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense was domestic in nature.

Street shrine for Isaiah Glover | 3800 block of block of Minnesota Avenue NE DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, February 6, 2021, in the 4100 block of Minnesota Avenue NE, Washington DC. At approximately 2:44 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been identified as Isaiah Glover, 30, of Northeast DC. 

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Keith Hudson, 25, of Northeast DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed. 

I spoke with several people, including a number of Mr. Glover's friends, at this large. memorial along busy Minnesota Avenue NE. Though the killing was in the 4100 block, this street memorial was erected in his memory at a place nearby where he liked to hang out. 

Of note at the shrine is a 12" vinyl record of DC Go Go band Trouble Funk's song "So Early In The Morning." May there be an eternal morning for Mr. Glover,  and may the community be spared further tragedy.










In memory of the life of Cierra Young | Branch Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue SE DC

From a DC Police report: Washington DC. At approximately 9:12 pm, February 14, 2021, members of the Sixth District responded to the intersection of Branch Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Washington DC, for the report of a traffic crash. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, inside of a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. The Detective’s investigation revealed that the offense occurred in the 3300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The decedent has been identified as Cierra Young, 18, of District Heights, Maryland.

This promising young woman may have been the victim of road rage. A large vigil was held in her memory and honor. The vigil was covered by NBC-TV Washington. There is additional information in about Cierra's life and passing in the Washington Post.

Stop the violence. 

May Ms. Young's memory be for a blessing, and her family spared further grief.






Double homicide: Octavaughn Dickerson & Anthony Bernard Hunt | East Capitol Street and Yacht Place, Capitol Heights MD


From a PG County Police report: The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working to determine the circumstances of a double fatal shooting Friday night in Capitol Heights, Maryland. A third adult male was also shot. He remains hospitalized. Preliminarily, his injuries do not appear life-threatening. 

On February 19, 2021, at approximately 8:50 pm, officers responded to the intersection of East Capitol Street and Yacht Place, Capitol Heights, for a reported vehicle collision. The officers discovered the two decedents inside of a car with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead on the scene. The third male who was shot was located outside of the car and was transported for treatment.  The two decedents are identified as 19-year-old Anthony Bernard Hunt of Washington DC and 23-year-old Octavaughn Dickerson of Washington DC. Investigators are actively examining evidence and conducting interviews to determine the circumstances that led to the shootings. Detectives do not believe this was a random incident.

"We Miss You" - Shrine for Brenea Franklin | 1100 block of Bellevue Street SE DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, January 31, 2021, in the 1100 block of Bellevue Street SE, Washington DC. At approximately 12:21 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a woman down on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, suffering from a severe laceration. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been identified as Brenea Audrice Franklin, 30, of Southeast DC.

Site of Humberto Sierra Camacho's slaying | 7300 block of Riggs Road, Chillum MD

From a Prince George's County Police report:  The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has identified and arrested a suspect for a murder in Chillum, Maryland. The suspect is Romeo Nolasco Cuellar, 14, of Brentwood. He’s charged with the fatal stabbing of 46-year-old Humberto Sierra Camacho of College Park. The suspect is charged as an adult. 

On February 7, 2021, at approximately 10:20 pm, patrol officers responded to the 7300 block of Riggs Road, Chillum, for a stabbing. Officers located the victim in a parking lot suffering from multiple stab wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was operating as a taxi driver the night of the murder. He picked up the suspect after the suspect requested a cab. The suspect then stabbed the victim during a robbery. Nolasco Cuellar is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges. He in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.  

May Mr. Comacho rest in eternal peace, and may justice be served.
