From a DC Police report: At approximately 3:05 am on Saturday August 17th, 2019, members of the Sixth District responded to the 1700 block of Q Street, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of 18th Street, Southeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as William Roland, 28, of Southeast, DC.
This extensive memorial is adjacent to Kramer Middle School.
