From a DC police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 700 block of 18th Street NE, Washington DC, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. At approximately 7:24 pm, members of the Fifth District heard the sound of gunshots and responded to the area. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.The decedent has been identified as DeAndre Riley, 25, of Southeast, DC.
A brief Washington Post article adds: " the shooting occurred... in the 1800 block of Benning Road NE, and that the wounded victim managed to walk several blocks before collapsing in the 700 block of 18th Street NE."
