These pictures are made of the many sad memorials made by friends & family of murder victims in Washington DC. They are found on streets all over town, are homemade, and appear spontaneously as shrines to the slaying victims, I am still working on this series, and have been documenting them for about two years.
I find too many of them. The local murder rate is down somewhat, so we're are no longer the Murder Capital of the country, but there are still too many families grieving and missing their loved ones, done in by the ongoing violence on the streets.
