Memorial for Angelo Alfonso Payne, Croffut Place SE DC

This simple but poignant memorial is an an alley to the rear of the 3400 block of Croffut Place SE, Washington DC. It honors Angelo Alphonso Payne who ended his life on this spot on December 30, 20012.

From a DC police report: On Sunday, December 30, 2012, at approximately 12:08 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the 3400 block of Croffut Place SE, Washington DC, for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival they discovered an unconscious adult male, identified as Angelo Alphonso Payne, 23, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Flowers & candles for Jason Anthony Emma, Capitol Hill, DC

From a DC police report: On Monday, December 24, 2012, at approximately 2:15 am, units from the First District responded to the 1300 block of C Street NE, Washington DC, for the report of sounds of gunshots, and a male slumped over the steering wheel inside a vehicle. Upon their arrival, First District officers located an adult male seated in a vehicle in the 1200 block of C Street, NE, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and determined that the victim, identified as Jason Anthony Emma, 28, had no signs consistent with life. He was later pronounced dead by a member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Robbery appears to have been the motive in his tragic slaying.

Jeffrey Ray Tyson | 5300 block E Street NW DC

From HomicideWatch: On Sunday, December 16, 2012, at approximately 9:06 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to 5300 block of E Street SE, Washington DC, for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, identified as Jeffrey Ray Tyson, 20, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

 All I encountered at the site was this remnant of DC police crime tape, and the winter wind...

For Nicoh Mayhew, and his wounded child, Seat Pleasant, Maryland

From a PG County police report: Prince George’s County homicide detectives are investigating a murder in Seat Pleasant. The victim is identified as Nicoh Mayhew, 25, of Seat Pleasant. On December 19, 2012, at around 10:00 am, police officers from the Seat Pleasant Police Department responded to the 6800 block of Seat Pleasant Drive, Seat Pleasant, Maryland, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police officers discovered two victims, Mayhew and a young child, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Mayhew was pronounced dead on scene.The two year-old boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation suggests two male suspects targeted the adult victim. The suspects fired several shots and then fled in a black four-door BMW with tinted windows, with unknown Maryland tags.

 May his family know peace and strength, and be able to care for his wounded child.

Christopher Davon White, 13920 Castle Boulevard, Briggs Chaney area

From a Montgomery County Police report: Detectives from the Major Crimes Division-Homicide/Sex Section are investigating a suspicious death in the Briggs Chaney area of the county. Detectives are investigating this death as a homicide. On Monday, December 10, 2012, at approximately 9:56 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the area of 13920 Castle Boulevard, Silver Spring, Maryland, for the sound of shots that had just occurred.  When officers arrived a few minutes later, they located a deceased male on a paved path to the rear of the Castle Boulevard address.  The male subject had trauma to his body. The victim is identified as Christopher Davon White, 22, of Landover, Maryland. 

All that I observed on the site was this yellow crime tape. May he rest in peace.
