At approximately 10:01 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, officers located five adult male victims and one adult female victim, suffering from gunshot wounds. This homicide has caused great sadness and disruption in the Columbia Heights Village community.

This memorial is directly across a small alleyway from a memorial to Dawud Debrulk, who was skilled in this same block in March 2019.

When I spoke to a young woman at the sites and wished her and the neighborhood peace, she responded, "we don't get any peace around here."
