Memorial for "Lil Chic". Dennis Taylor | 2200 block of Columbia Place, Landover MD

From a Prince Georges Police report: The Homicide Unit is actively investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager Saturday night in Landover, Maryland. The victim is Dennis Taylor, 15, of Columbia Place in Landover. Officers were called to the 2200 block of Columbia Place at 9:40 pm on March 25th 2017, for a shooting. Taylor was found outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to reports by the Washington Post and Channel 50 TV, Mr. Taylor, whose nickname was "Li'l Chic," was shot very near his home. Heroic CPR efforts by a neighbor, Ms. Karen Forges, who is a nurse, and the work of emergency paramedics, were unsuccessful in reviving him from his wounds.

His friends and family held a large vigil in his honor and memory, and to comfort themselves at his tragic end.

Walter Mack Clark, slain in the 700 block of 21st Street NE, DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 700 block of 21st Street NE, Washington DC, on Friday, February 17, 2017. At approximately 12:53 pm, officers responded to the listed location for an ‘Investigate the Trouble’ call. Upon arrival, members located an adult male inside of a residence. The male was unconscious and appeared to have sustained trauma to his body. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the body and the manner of death to be Homicide. The decedent has been identified as Walter Mack Clark, 63, of Southeast, DC. On Friday, February 17, 2017, detectives from the Homicide Branch arrested Thomasine Bennett, 67, of Northeast, DC. She was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.

From a Prince Georges County Police report: The Homicide Unit arrested a suspect in connection with a recent homicide in District Heights. The suspect is Sedrick Stokes, 27, of Temple Hills. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of Nathan Slye Jr., 46, of Suitland. On March 3, 2017, at about 12:25 pm, officers were called to the 3000 block of Great Oak Drive, District Heights, Maryland, for the report of a shooting. Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. Preliminarily, detectives believe the motive is robbery. The suspect and victim were acquaintances. Stokes is charged with first and second degree murder.

This material was about a block away from the site indicated on the police report.

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Fairlawn Avenue SE, Washington DC, on Friday, March 24, 2017. At approximately 12:30 am, officers from the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as Maurice Nathaniel Jackson, 32, of Southeast, DC.

RIP Eric Linnair Wright. 900 block of 12th Street NE, DC

From a DC Police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch seek the public's assistance in identifying and locating two persons of interest in a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the 900 block of 12th Street NE, Washington DC. At approximately 9:21 pm, members of the First District responded to the location for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim, identified as Eric Linnair Wright, 53, to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

From a DC police report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 2700 block of Langston Place SE, Washington DC, on Saturday, March 4, 2017. At approximately 1:11 am, officers responded to the listed location for a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim, identified as Delonta Alexander, 34, to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

This memorial is adjacent to the one for Adam Edwin Barker, slain in the same block one year ago.
