"Brenden's Path" - Memorial to Brenden Michael Wilson, Woodbridge, VA

From a Prince William County police report:  On November 10, 2014, at 4:28 pm, officers responded to the 12500 block of Oakwood Dr in Woodbridge, Virginia to investigate a reported shooting. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim on a pathway between the Woodbridge Senior High School and adjoining neighborhood. The victim, identified as a 16 year old male juvenile who attends Woodbridge Senior High School, sustained gunshot related injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was revealed that the shooting was drug related and that all parties were known to one another. The victim was identified as Brenden Michael Wilson, 16, of Woodbridge . A 17 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge and a 16 year old female juvenile of Woodbridge were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Considerably more information about this case can be found  in a Washington Post article, and other press accounts.

This was among the largest memorials I have encountered in the past dozen years. It is on a path immediately adjacent to the high school he attended. Obviously Mr. Wilson's loss had a powerful affect on his family and community. I wish them all peace and healing.

Thank you for posting this. Some of the information is not accurate. Brenden didn't know all involved and it wasn't a robbery. As his Mother I will have to wait for trial to clear his name. I have more pictures. We decorated for New year's and his birthday was January 10th exactly 2 months after his murder. If you want me to send pictures please let me know. I make sure it's always lit up.
Sincerely, Vikki Wilson-Moore
